OGDENSBURG -- The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary announces registration is now open for an in person “Boat America” boating safety class Sept. 25-26, from 5-9 p.m. at the United Helpers, 100 Ford St.
As of January 1, 2025, all operators of motorized vessels, regardless of age, will need a boater safety certificate before operating their vessel.
All “jet ski” operators regardless of age must take a boating safety course and be a minimum of 14 years old. “Boat America” fulfills both these requirements.
Pre-registration is required and closes Sept. 23. Tuition is $35 per person with family rates and youth scholarships available.
