Stanley H. Young Sr., 87, Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR - Stanley H. Young Sr., 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home.

A private graveside service will be held at East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur.

Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.

Stanley was born in Gouverneur on April 14, 1937, the son of Stanley W. And Catherine E.(Simmons) Young.

He graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1956.

Stan was a truck driver most of his life. He drove for the Scozzafava family for a few years, McAllister Oil Company, and Alaskan Oil/Patriot Oil Company.

He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Sibley on April 13, 1957. Jackie passed away on May 19, 2023.

He enjoyed fishing, puttering, visiting with friends and family, and the companionship of his dog.

Stanley is survived by his 3 sons, Stanley H. Jr. “Fuzzer” and Laurie Young, Russell A. “Rusty”
and Robin Young, Tracy C. and Cheryl Young; his 6 grandchildren, Justin M. Young, Brodey A. Young, Ryan S. Young, Rachael M. Young, Jeremy L. Young, and Tanner J. Young; great grandchildren, Grant, Mia, Cassidy, Colby, Levi, Caleb, Ryelyn, Alex, Peyton, Shae, Zachary, Pyper, and Riley, a sister Janet Fuller; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Jackie; his granddaughter, Erin Rene Young; his brothers, Ralph Young and Roger Young.
