SLC Suicide Awareness Coalition says thanks for great event

To the Editor:

On behalf of the SLC Suicide Awareness Coalition, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Liberty Gas, Massena Central School District, and everyone from the Community who participated in the Liberty Color Run on September 14. Your support not only brought vibrant colors to the John Story Trail at Massena Central High School but also highlighted the crucial cause of suicide awareness.

This event, organized by Liberty Gas in partnership with the Massena Central School District, truly united our community. As participants ran (or walked) through sprinklers and were splashed with color, we witnessed laughter and joy, all while promoting awareness for the mental health issues that affect us all.

We would also like to extend our thanks to our enthusiastic volunteers, local businesses, and everyone who contributed to the day’s festivities. Your efforts helped create an unforgettable atmosphere filled with positivity and encouragement. The playful squirt guns added an extra layer of fun, reminding us that we can tackle serious issues while celebrating life.

The “Chalk the Walk” initiative was a beautiful addition, allowing participants to express their thoughts and messages of hope. Each chalk mark represented a personal connection to our cause, showcasing the power of community in fostering understanding and support.

Your participation in the Liberty Color Run has made a lasting impact. Together, we are breaking the silence surrounding suicide and encouraging conversations about mental health. Every step you took and every color you wore helped spread awareness and hope.

Thank you once again, to Liberty Gas and Massena Central School District for organizing this event, and to you, community members for being part of this vital initiative. Let’s continue to support one another, uplift those in need, and work together to create a brighter, more compassionate future. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s event.
