OGDENSBURG –  The Ogdensburg Community office of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce recognized Michael Barney, a senior at Lisbon Central School, as the May BOCES Student of the Month.

Barney is in the Metalworking Program at Northwest Tech BOCES in Ogdensburg.

“Michael is a very conscientious and diligent senior in the Metalworking Program. He is a model student both in the classroom and shop. Michael is always well-mannered and respectful to his teachers and classmates. Michael consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and goes above and beyond in the shop. His positive attitude and hard work will serve him well in any career he chooses to pursue. It has been a pleasure working with Michael these past two years,” said John Hughes, his instructor in the Metalworking Program.

Michael wants to pursue a career in musical instrument repairs.

Michael Barney received a Certificate of Achievement from BOCES and a plaque from the Ogdensburg Community office.
