FORMERLY OF HOPKINTON - Sandra “Sandy” Dyke (née Stacy), 84, passed away February 25, 2025 in Syracuse, New York.
Sandy is survived by her adoring husband of 66 years, Keith Dyke, and their four children: Kelly Dyke; Keitha (Richard) Sleggs; Ivan (Michelle) Dyke; and Kevin Dyke.
For over 40 years, Sandy was known as Nana to her 7 grandchildren: Rebecca (Aaron), Brandy (Ron), Jessica, Ricki (Joel), Andrew, Evan, and Danielle; as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Asantae, Kamiyah, Julius, Richard, and Aeris.
She was born October 22, 1940 in Potsdam, New York, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Myrtle Stacy (née Clark). Sandy was the youngest of eight siblings, all of whom predeceased her.
Raised in Hopkinton, New York, Sandy attended Parishville-Hopkinton high school before graduating from St. Lawrence Central in 1960.
Sandy met Keith in 1957, marrying at Nicholville Methodist Church in Nicholville, New York, on July 12, 1958 and starting their family.
After raising their family in Winthrop, Sandy and Keith made their home for twenty years on the St. Lawrence River in Louisville, NY.
Sandy graduated from the Massena School of Business, working as a bookkeeper for several St. Lawrence County businesses before retiring from St. Lawrence Gas.
In retirement, she lived in Mission/McAllen, Texas; West Chazy/Plattsburgh, New York; and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, before moving to Fayetteville, New York.
Sandy is at the heart of decades of family memories. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, boat rides on the St. Lawrence, attending country music festivals, and most of all camping and traveling across the country with Keith. Together they traveled on 19 cruises to destinations including Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia, and the Caribbean. While living in Texas, Sandy loved making visits to Mexico.
