Ronnie Leigh Quintet on stage Sunday at Norwood Village Green

NORWOOD — The Norwood Village Green Concert Series will continue its 51st Annual Season on Sunday, June 30 at 7 p.m. with The Ronnie Leigh Quintet.

At 76 years old, Ronnie has performed for the last 50 years working with everyone from Smokey Robinson, to Aretha Franklin, to Ray Charles. Leigh’s career has had him on stages across the United States and in Canada, bringing him recognition and respect among many in the entertainment industry.

An Albany, New York native, Leigh has received a SAMMY Award (the Syracuse Area Music Awards) numerous times in the 1990s and early 2000s, including as best jazz vocalist in 1994, 1997 and 2001.

He was inducted into the SAMMY Hall of Fame in 2004.

Jazz In The City’s co-founder and artistic director, Ronnie Leigh, also serves as the Artistic Director for Fayetteville Jazz.

The Series is supported in part by the Northern New York Community Foundation helping establish and maintain the series endowment fund. Public monies from the Town of Potsdam and the Village of Norwood also support the series. It is also supported in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and New York State Legislature.
