OGDENSBURG—A Waddington man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly forcibly stole cigarettes and attempted to assault a bystander at the Stewart’s Shop on Ford Street in Ogdensburg, city police say.
Ogdensburg Police report that Christopher J. Burhans, 24, of Waddington, was charged Tuesday, March 17, with one count third-degree attempted assault (B misdemeanor), and one count third-degree robbery (D felony) in connection with the incident.
City police report that Burhans was charged after investigation of an assault complaint revealed that he allegedly stole cigarettes from an individual by force and attempted to physically assault a bystander.
An Ogdensburg Police press release states that no weapons were used in the incident and the public was not in danger at any point.
