POTSDAM – Potsdam's Annual FrostyFest: Snowman Competition will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Ives Park.
This free community-wide event is sponsored by the North Country Children's Museum, SLC Arts, and the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce.
Come build a snowman, snow woman, or snow creature with your family and friends. Free registration will open at 11am in the Ives Park Gazebo.
Judging begins at 12:30 p.m.
Awards will be announced and prizes for winners will take place at 1 p.m.
Bring items from home to make your snow creation unique.
Prizes will be awarded for: Best in Snow, People's Choice, Most Artistic, Most Comedic, and Most North Country.
There will be awards in all categories for both "family with kids" and "adult groups".
Children, families, high school and college students, adults, groups, and individuals are welcome and encouraged to participate and stroll through the park.
Free coffee and hot chocolate in the gazebo are donated by Jernabi Coffeehouse. Free cookies and s'mores are donated by Price Chopper.
There will be fire pits in the park for roasting your s'more treats and warming up. For kids, there will be a Winter Story Walk by the Potsdam Public Library.
NCPR is the media sponsor.
Gift card prizes for winning snowmen are donated by Big Spoon Kitchn, yhr Airport Diner, the Children's Museum, Potsdam Chamber, and SLCArts.
No snow date is Saturday, February 1st.
