POTSDAM – Alex Quinn, a student-athlete from Potsdam on the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team, was among six SUNY Potsdam women student-athletes earning spots on the College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District Team.
The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for a nomination, athletes need to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, be a sophomore and have participated in at least 90 percent of their team's contests or started in 66 percent.
Quinn, a graduate student defenseman, earns all-district honors for the second season in-a-row. The assistant captain led the Bears with 11 assists this season and was second in scoring with 12 points. In four seasons, she has 36 points on 16 goals and 20 assists.
