POTSDAM— Jacob M. Bentz, 35, of Potsdam, was issued a uniform traffic ticket June 7 for speed in zone, Potsdam Police say. 

According to village police, Bentz was ticketed after patrols observed him driving on Maple Street at an alleged high rate of speed, reportedly measured at 50 mph in the 30 mph zone. 

Ticket is returnable to Potsdam Town Court July 9.

Brookelyn A. VanBrocklin, 25, of Canton, was charged June 7 with one count second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and was issued a uniform traffic ticket for speed in zone, Potsdam Police say. 

Village police report that VanBrocklin was charged after patrols observed her driving on Clarkson Avenue at an alleged high rate of speed, reportedly measured at 45 mph in the 30 mph zone. Upon the traffic stop, VanBrocklin’s license was reportedly found to be revoked. 

Tickets are returnable to Potsdam Town Court July 9.
