Patricia's great passion was raising and showing poodles. Over four decades of breeding poodles, Palmer's Cameo Kennel produced 40 American and Canadian champions. Patricia was active in the St Lawrence Valley Dog Club, and as president took on the local SPCA as a community project.

Over the next several years, she and other dedicated volunteer staff raised funds, increased adoptions, improved buildings and kennels and helped the organization out of the financial crisis.

The compassion, common sense and sense of humor that was so evident in her family life was shared with her community. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and caring friend.
