MADRID — The St. Lawrence Power & Equipment Museum will once again host its annual Old Fashioned Harvest Days Exhibition and Tractor Show on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30–31.

Taking place over Labor Day weekend in Madrid, the event brings together local families, history enthusiasts, and antique tractor fans for two full days of hands-on history, demonstrations, and rural traditions.

Throughout the weekend, all museum buildings will be open, offering access to historic exhibits and antique machinery. Visitors can enjoy an antique tractor display on the front lawn, live blacksmith demonstrations, museum merchandise in the open pavilion, and local vendors in front of the main pavilion. Reenactors will be stationed at Fort Tribute, a train display will be running in the collection building, and children can take part in a themed scavenger hunt known as the Children’s Quest.

Saturday’s schedule includes light draft horse weigh-in and pulls from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the equine pavilion; saw and shingle mill demonstrations from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; corn harvesting near the open pavilion at 10 a.m.; and the Antique Tractor Parade at 11 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids can enjoy face painting in the open pavilion, a petting zoo near the main pavilion, and pony or horse rides nearby.

The afternoon continues with horse pulls at 1 p.m., kids’ pedal tractor races in the tractor barn at the same time, followed by more sawmill demonstrations from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and a children’s recruitment and drill activity at Fort Tribute at 1:30 p.m. Another corn harvesting demonstration is scheduled for 2 p.m. The day wraps up with live music by Steelin’ Country from 3 to 5 p.m. in the open pavilion.

Sunday begins with a church service at 8:30 a.m. in the historic Nevin Church. Antique tractor pulls will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The petting zoo and pony or horse rides return from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Women’s Skillet Toss, a highlight of the weekend, will take place at 11 a.m. in the equine pavilion. A chicken BBQ dinner will be served starting at noon until gone, and the kids’ pedal tractor pulls are set for 1 p.m. in the tractor barn.

Food and refreshments will be available both days. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m., with ice cream and drinks offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pizza, snacks, and meals will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with options sold by the slice or whole pie.

A museum raffle is also underway, with just 300 tickets available at $10 each. The first drawn winner will choose between a $500 gift card to C&M Beer or a PITBOSS wood pellet grill, while the second winner receives the remaining prize.

Wagon rides will help visitors move around the grounds, and those needing assistance can look for Events Committee members wearing bright orange or green polos.
