NORWOOD – Brock Cousineau, a Norwood-Norfolk Central School student from Seaway Career & Technical Education Center, has been named the 2025 National CTE Student of the Year, according to CareerSafe.
This prestigious award recognizes one exceptional student who demonstrates academic excellence, outstanding leadership, community involvement, and commitment to their chosen career pathways. As part of this honor, Brock will receive:
A $2,500 scholarship to support his future studies
A professional video shoot to highlight his story and accomplishments
National recognition through press, social media, and online announcements
Brock is an outstanding member of the Natural Resources program at Seaway Career &
Technical Education Center. Not only is he a member of the National Technical Honor
Society and the National Honor Society, but he also serves as a student leader within his
program. Known for his leadership and work ethic, Brock has made a significant impact
both in and out of the classroom.
During his high school tenure, Brock earned three prestigious awards: Career Tech All Star award in his region, Starfish Award for saving a co-worker’s life, and Starfish Award for sportsmanship.
Brock is also an active member of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, showcasing his dedication to community service. He’s the captain of his high school hockey team and participates in shooting sports, balancing athletics with his academic and community responsibilities. Brock plans to attend Husson University in Maine in the fall, where he will major in Conservation Law.

Through partnerships with educational institutions, CareerSafe offers courses that empower students with essential safety training, valuable employability skills and cybersecurity awareness, preparing them for success in industries across the country.
