To the Editor:
Nature Up North would like to express its sincerest thanks to the Canton Community Fund and Northern New York Community Fund for their generous award of $2,000 for the North Country Wild community science project!
We are very excited for the many public programs that this funding enables us to accomplish, and the countless local students we will be able to engage in capturing local wildlife on camera. The data from this project will help local teachers, professors, researchers, and community members learn more about the ways animals interact with our local environment, and give us clues as to which habitats are key in conserving our local ecosystem.
If you are interested in helping us launch this project by either hosting one of our trail cameras, purchased with this grant funding, or submitting photo data to us from a camera that you already own, please contact us at info@natureupnorth.org.
We're currently accepting sign-ups from community members willing to help us test our project before opening it to the general public.
