POTSDAM — Halloween-themed activities are underway again this week with terrifying trivia, haunted houses, Halloween art crafts and other fun. Here are a few of the events scheduled:
Haunted Hayrides in Brasher
BRASHER — The Tri-Town Chamber will hold their Annual Haunted Hayride on three weekends: Oct. 10-11 at 101 Leary Flint Rd, Brasher Falls.
Ticket purchases for non-scary rides start at 5:30 p.m. and start once the wagon is full. Scary rides begin at dusk. The last ticket to be sold will be at 10:00 p.m.
The hayride has six tractors and wagons, so the wait to ride the haunted wagons will not be as long.
A new attraction this year is a 15 foot scary scarecrow and an additional hay wagon donated in memory of Keith Olson.
Also new this year is a large tent donated by NuMed, costing over $5,000. The tent will be used for ticket sales and for school sports teams and clubs to sell food, snacks and products.
Thirty volunteers help with the event, including a tractor driver and a chaperone on each wagon, decorators for the props, and volunteers that help with the “scare experience.”
Cost is $5 per ticket cash to benefit Tri-Town Chamber Of Commerce.
Proceeds help fund the Tri-Town food pantries, Winter Carnival Kid Zone, Christmas basket fund, and three senior scholarships.

“The sirens have gone silent... but something still lurks in the dark. This October, your local heroes invite you to step inside the most chilling haunted house in town — where the line between life and afterlife is dangerously thin. Walk the halls of our twisted hospital of horrors, where the patients never leave and the doctors have long since lost their minds.”
There will be live actors and jump scares, bone-chilling sound effects and special effects that bring your nightmares to life.
The event promises a scare for everyone.
All proceeds go directly to support the lifesaving mission of the Massena Rescue Squad.
