MORLEY -- With broken hearts the family announces Michael J. "Poppy" Lennox, age 77, of Canton (Morley) passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2025, at Canton Potsdam Hospital. To honor Mike's wishes there will be no service. A "Celebration of Life" will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Ogdensburg.
Mike loved sports, hunting, fishing and outdoor activities but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his beautiful, loving family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Billie; his daughters, Shondel Boyden and Marcia Bero of Colton, Shannon and Bryan Kenny of Lisbon, Danielle Lennox and Ed Clary of Lisbon; also, his beloved grandchildren, Brandon Kenny, Zachary and Victoria Kenny, Lacey Kenny, Beau Boyden, Mackenzie and Robert Shehan, Bailey Dillabough, Isaiah Dillabough, Madalyn Dillabough, and Matthew Clary; great-grandchildren, Layne, Hadley, and Hayes Shehan, Alice and Kain Kenny, Aaliyah McCray, Rolen and Wade Cole.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Diane Alexander, Susan Keopp-Baker and a brother, William Lennox.
Mike was born June 30, 1947 to the late Paul and Esther Lennox. He graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School in 1965 then joined the U.S. Navy for four years as a Hospital Corpsman.
On July 30, 1971, he married Billie Mousaw Buckley. They were married for over 53 years.
Mike was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union for over 50 years and loved doing the work. He was a member of the Morley Fire Department and later a member of the Morley Fire District Commissioners.
He was, also, a member of the VFW, Canton; Amvets, Colton; and the Newton Falls Sport and Recreational Club.
Mike will be forever missed and fondly remembered for his kind, loving heart and willingness to help and mentor others.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morley Fire Department or Canton Fire Department.
