MASSENA — The Massena 14U River Queens will be heading to Nationals, after winning the NYS Tier II Youth Hockey Championship in Amherst March 9.
The River Queens came into the competition as an "underdog" status among eight teams at the tournament.
After losing to the CP Dynamo 4-0 in game 1, the Massena River Queens beat the CP team 4-3 in overtime in the championship game.
Players, from all over the north country, are Luciana Fregoe, Delia Gaurin, Audrey Sheldon, Kendra Levitt, Makenna Helmer, Sophia Currier, Jordyn Scott, Harper Strack, Kennedy Colterman, Madelyn Binion, Emii Colby, Mary Sergi, Emily McCarthy, and Bailey Aldridge.
The top two teams, Massena and CP Dynamo, will now move on to play in the National Championship Tournament in Coral Springs, Florida, April 2 - 6.
