MASSENA - Mary Elizabeth Beeson 89 of Massena, NY passed away on March 14th, 2025 after a short hospitalization at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Mary was born on July 19, 1935 to the parents of William York Grant and Eva Boice Grant and they resided at 8 South Street in Massena. She was a graduate of Massena High School class of 1953. She married Theodore Robert Beeson on August 8, 1953 after he returned from the Army where he served in Panama during the Korean War and they resided on State Hwy 420 for 64 years until recently moving to Tennessee with her daughter in December 2024. Theodore predeceased her January 10, 1991.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker for many years. She loved reading, was an avid bingo player at the KC's, St Mary's Church and frequently enjoyed going down to the Akwesasne reservation for bingo there. She was a member of the Senior Citizen Center and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Finding Your Roots. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary was one of eight children and was predeceased by: Kenneth Baldwin, Alice Garcia and Freida Garcia all of Massena, Aletha Tyo of Helena, Doris Kline of Brasher, Lawrence Hawkins and William Grant of Tennessee.
Mary is survived by her daughter Robin Beeson of Tennessee, Randy Beeson of Ogdensburg and his wife Laurie, three grandchildren; Ashleigh Wolfe of Tennessee, Caitlin Beeson of Massena and Morgan Beeson (Lucas Osypiewski) of Chase Mills, also her five great grandchildren; Samantha Wolfe, Erik Wolfe, Jesse Curtis, Mia Curtis and Oaklan and Nellie Beeson.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call on Friday 12-2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Cory Loudon, officiating. Burial will be held later in the spring in Raymondville Cemetery.
