NORWOOD – Calling hours for Marsha A. MacArthur, 83, a resident of 104 West Parishville Road, Potsdam and formerly of Norwood, will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.

Prayers and memories will be offered at 12 noon followed by graveside services in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Mrs. MacArthur passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025 at the North Country Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Massena. Marsha is survived by two sons, Jerry Bartlett, Colton and John and Debbie Bartlett, Potsdam; one granddaughter, Cecille Nelson and two great-grandchildren. Marsha is also survived by a sister, Janice. Marsha was pre-deceased by her parents, her late husband Robert and three brothers, Robert, Ronald and Peter Theofield.

Born in Huntington, Long Island on April 22, 1942 to the late Pete Theofield and Lola Weber, Marsha married John “Jack” Barlett in 1961. The marriage ended in divorce and Marsha later married Robert J. MacArthur during the summer of 1976. Robert passed away on April 14, 2014. Marsha began work at Pilgrim State Hospital in Long Island, then Norwood-Norfolk Central School as a bus driver.

She most recently worked for Dr. Riggs Dentist Office in Potsdam as an assistant. In her free time, Marsha loved being outside, tending to her horses. She was an accomplished rider and trainer for many years. She loved to go whitetail deer hunting, and in her mid-sixties, she bought her first motorcycle and passed the road test on the first try. A child of the 50's working under-age as a waitress on roller skates at a car-hop in Coney Island, she won first place for her waitress costume recreation alongside her 1956 Ford Thunderbird coupe at the Norwood Mega-Car Show in 2021. These were her mulberry days.
