Marion P. Davis, 86, Potsdam

POTSDAM – Marion P. Davis, 86, a resident of Waite Road, passed away early Friday morning, December 13, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Marion was born in Canton on June 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Thomas and Cassie (Smith) Farns and attended several local schools. On August 12, 1955, she married Kenneth C. Davis at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hopkinton. He predeceased her on November 5, 2019.

Marion was a waitress for many years working at very local restaurants including McManus’s Restaurant in Potsdam. She and her late husband also owned and operated a farm in Madrid for many years. Marion and her late husband enjoyed traveling, especially motorcycle trips with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, cooking, family gatherings, and cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.

Marion is survived by her children, Candy and Richard Olmstead of Potsdam and Rhodes and Darlene Davis of Hammond; her grandchildren, Mandy and Craig Simmons of Stockholm, Jason and Kim Olmstead of Massachusetts, and Jeremy and Whitney Davis of Redwood; her great grandchildren, Levi and Connor Simmons and Hayden and Holden Davis; her brothers, John and Linda Bartlett of Lisbon and Keith and Susie Bartlett of Portageville, New York; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Emily Bartlett, Sharon French, Barbara Perry, Beverly Wilson, Harriett Orrell, and Roger, Odie, and Thomas Farns.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, however there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in her memory to the Potsdam Humane Society.
