Loretta Bronchetti Perez, 73, Massena

MASSENA - Loretta Bronchetti Perez, age 73, tragically passed away on Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024.

Friends and family may be received on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Mark Reilly presiding.

Burial to take place in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

Arrangements are under the care of the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

She was born on October 8, 1951, in Massena, NY, to the late Mary “Mae” (Catanzarite) and Joseph “Razzy” Bronchetti.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Jennifer Rose of Massena, NY; sister, Rosemary Bronchetti of Massena, NY, a brother, Samuel Bronchetti of Madison, WI; sister in-law, Doreen Bronchetti of Syracuse, NY, aunts and uncles: Gloria Catania, Rosemary Serabian, Shirley Venier, Daniel and Loretta Bronchetti, James and Jean Bronchetti, Josephine and James Cuyer along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Bronchetti.

Loretta was a graduate from Potsdam State College in 1973 where she earned a master’s degree in education.

Loretta began teaching Math and English in 1973 and she retired from Massena Junior High School in 2010 after 37 years of service.

She continued to substitute until 2014. Along with working at the school, she also owned and operated Massena Travel.

Loretta was very active in the community, where she held many positions. She was chairman for the board of Massena Hospital St. Lawrence Health System for many years.

She also served on the board for the Massena Country Club and was a member of the Italian American Club, where she was currently the treasurer.

She also was an avid golfer and captain of the 6 Women Team.

She was an avid traveler. She loved to visit St. Martin, the Dominican Republic, and Europe.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, where she served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister.

Loretta loved to “shop till she dropped”.

She was an avid Syracuse fan. She held season tickets for football and would travel to Syracuse for all the games with family and friends. She also liked to spend her time with family playing cards and she always wanted to play fair.

Loretta cherished the special times she shared with her daughter, Jenn, going to Dunkin Donuts, shopping at T.J. Maxx, and going to dinner at Sergi's Italian Restaurant.

Playing golf with her sister, Rose, Sam and Dan was a favorite pastime.

Christmas time was always a favorite holiday for Loretta.
