Joanne F. Rose, 84, Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR - Joanne F. Rose, 84, of SR-58, passed away Sunday evening, at home, November 3, 2024.

Born in Antwerp, NY, on February 14, 1940 to the late William and Retha Hitchman Smith, and she was a graduate of Antwerp High School.

Joanne married Gerald “Jerry” Rose October 12, 1962 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church. They were married for 34-years and Jerry passed away July 29, 1997.

She was a dental hygienist for 25-years, working at the Community Health Center of the North Country, Canton, NY, and Dr. Day, Gouverneur, NY.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Trudy Rose, Gouverneur, NY; two grandchildren, Jessica Rose and her companion, Robert Scott, and great-grandson, Hudson Scott of Gouverneur, NY, and Kelsey Rose and great-granddaughter, Audrey of Oswego, NY.

Private burial will be in New St. James Catholic Cemetery, Gouverneur, NY.

Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
