Hannah M. Emhof, 90, formerly of Canton

CANTON - Hannah M. Emhof, 90 of Delray Beach, Florida (formerly of Canton), went home to our Lord on April 3rd, 2025. 

Hannah was born on November 18th, 1934, in Worcester, NY. After high school graduation, Hannah worked for the phone company in Oneonta where she met her husband, Carson. They were married September 21st, 1957. They lived in New Berlin, NY for 6 years before moving to Canton. Hannah was active in the Canton community with Carson and her 5 children.

Hannah was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. She was a girls softball coach and 4-H leader for the Shamrock Girls. She served as Vice President for St. Mary’s Altar Rosary Society and ATC women. 

Hannah was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church in Canton. She worked as a receptionist at the NYS Worker’s Compensation Board and as an inspector of elections for the St. Lawrence County Board of Elections. Following retirement, along with Carson, Hannah owned and operated Emhof’s miniature golf and driving range.

Hannah is survived by her sons Carson J. Emhof (Janet), Daniel Emhof (Cathy), daughters Ann Thompson (Douglas), and Dawn Lyon (Eric) as well as 8 grandchildren Hannah Lyon, Mikey Emhof, Jenny Yeager (Matt), Haley Emhof, Danielle Emhof, Nicholas Lyon, Kyle Thompson, Ronnie Emhof, and her brother Thomas Twomey (Sal).

Hannah is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 58 years Carson, her son Tommy, her parents and 3 brothers.

A Mass of Christian burial for Hannah will be held on Saturday April 12th at 11:00AM. Calling hours will be held at the O’Leary funeral home, Canton on Friday April 11th from 5PM until 7PM. Donations may be made in Hannah’s memory to Hospice of St. Lawrence County.
