Hammond observes Memorial Day

The community of Hammond recently held a May 28th ceremony marking the national observance of Memorial Day. The Hammond Central band performed, the Hammond Fire Department color guard presented the flag, and local officials spoke. Thirty Hammond-area veterans were honored as 'hometown heroes' and their banners have been put up on poles in the villages of Hammond and Chippewa Bay. Photo submitted by Dixie Dave Ellis.
