Gouverneur Middle School celebrates National Junior High Honor Society induction

Stewart’s Shops supports ceremony

GOUVERNEUR — The Gouverneur Middle School recently hosted its annual National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony, celebrating a group of exceptional students who demonstrate the core values of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

This year’s event was made even more special thanks to the generosity of Stewart’s Shops, who donated a delicious assortment of donuts and refreshers. Their continued partnership and support reflect the heart of our community-based values. Stewart’s Shops consistently goes above and beyond to support students, and we are deeply grateful for all they contribute to our school and the greater Gouverneur community.

During the ceremony, students were reminded that leadership is not just a title—it’s a commitment to doing what is right, being of service to others, and striving for excellence in all areas of life. These young leaders are already setting the tone for what it means to be a role model in today’s world.

The event was hosted by the Scientia Chapter of NJHS, and students participated in a traditional candle-lighting ceremony symbolizing the five pillars of the organization. It was a powerful reminder that the future is indeed in good hands.

The 2025 NJHS inductees are Brooklyn Anderson, Luke Bartholomew, Paisley Casey, Silas Clark, Karsyn Cudhea, Peyton Dusharm, Chloe Griffith, Ruby Griffith, Delaney Hoffman, Frances LaPierre, Aubrianna Mason, Colton Salter, Ariyonna Savage, Ellie Sweeney, and Aryana Tarkowski.
