WELLESLEY ISLAND - On December 15, 2024 Glenn William Timmerman, age 91 of Wellesley Island, NY and Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully.
Glenn was born on October 28, 1933, at the home of his grandparents in Theresa, NY, to his parents Gerald W. and Fannie (Dudley) Timmerman.
A graduate of Theresa High School in 1951, he then went on to SUNY Delhi graduating in 1953 with an Associate Degree in Construction Engineering. In that year he married Donna Laemmermann, this marriage would later end in divorce. From 1954-1956 he served in the United States Army.
After his honorable discharge he worked for several years with his father in construction. In 1960 he returned to college and in 1962 obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts. In September 1962 he began his career in education at Heuvelton Central School, where he was for thirty-one years, retiring in 1993.Glenn started at Heuvelton as an Industrial Arts teacher. After obtaining his Master’s in Education degree from St. Lawrence University in 1968, he became Guidance Counselor and later Vice Principal and Director of Guidance.
In 1977 Glenn married Phyllis Felt Richardson. Surviving Glenn are his wife Phyllis, a son Gregory W. Timmerman (Joan) of Fort Myers, FL and Clayton, NY. Two step-children, Sallie Richardson of Bethlehem, PA and Lloyd Richardson (Christine) of Heuvelton, NY.
He is also survived by a grandson, Geoffery W. Timmerman (Camille) of Clarksville, MD, two step-granddaughters Lara Richardson of Lisbon, NY and Macy Richardson of Heuvelton, NY, a step-grandson Claudio Zaffaresse of Easton, PA. Two great- grandchildren Keara and Grant Timmerman of Clarksville, MD and a step-great-granddaughter, Willow Richardson of Lisbon, NY, and several Felt nieces and nephews.
Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family, travel throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean, as well as summers at the cottage in Westminster Park, Wellesley Island and winters in Fort Myers, FL.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
