NORWOOD -- Francis Howard “Frank” Trombly, a treasured husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 5th, 2024.
Frank was born on July 18th, 1968, at Canton Hospital, the son of Judy (Fetterly) and Francis Trombly.
Frank graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central School, class of 1986, where he earned his regents diploma and pursued a career in construction.
Frank was well known for his masterful carpentry skills. His attention to detail can be found in his creations throughout the North Country.
Frank’s memory is honored and kept alive by his devoted fiancé, Colleen Olmstead, his loving parents, Francis and Judy Trombly, his adoring children, Britney, Brooke, and Dylan Trombly, his cherished grandchild, Carson Pease, his sister and ex-brother in-law, Wendy and Jamie Sharpe, his niece, Cora Sharpe and her significant other, Lee Sattler and their two daughters; Adaline and LyraMae Sattler, his nephews Hunter Sharpe, Tyler Olmstead, and his niece Alaina Olmstead. Frank is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Frank was predeceased by his grandparents, Hermon and Cora (Chambers) Fetterly; grandparents, Clayton and Verna “Helen” (Strader) Trombly; ex-wife, Priscilla Osoway-Trombly; and his mother-in-law, Patti Olmstead and a son in-law, Donald "DJ" Ward IV.
Frank was well-known for working hard and helping others out. His generosity left limited time for hobbies, but he always found time to spend with his family.
Frank particularly enjoyed Sunday dinner get-togethers, football, NASCAR racing, and watching rock concerts (which he hoped to do more of in the future). Frank also enjoyed spending time in nature. He could often be found outdoors watching the deer with his sidekick “Sadie Bug”.
Even in the coldest of weather, Frank was outside zipping around on his tractor, doing wood, or working on something in his garage. Frank will forever be remembered for his quick comebacks and endless jokes and laughter.
As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Instead, a celebration of life will be held to commemorate and honor his memory at the Waddington American Legion Post No. 420 on Saturday, August 24, 2024, beginning at noon.
