WADDINGTON – Barb Elliott, the New York B.A.S.S. Nation Conservation Director and smallmouth bass "fizzing" expert will give free fish care training to the public at the Waddington boat ramp on Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. prior to the Humminbird Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River held Aug. 15-18. Elliott will provide instruction on fish handling, basic livewell management and barotrauma relief (fizzing). Anglers wanting to learn proper fizzing technique are encouraged to bring with them two live, legal-size smallmouth bass when they come for training. Elliot will also be a featured speaker at the free BassmastHER workshop on Saturday, Aug. 17, in Waddington at the Martin Civic Center.
