MASSENA —Living wills, estate planning, Hospice and funeral planning are four workshops being offered at Massena Public Library in September.
“Hospice is about L.I.F.E.”(Living it Fully Everyday) workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. It will explain how Hospice is different from other forms of health care, qualifying conditions for Hospice admission, and how to start the admission process. Explore what Hospice provides (and does not provide), the benefits to advance care planning, and basics of a MOLST.
Join local attorney Daniel Ramsey as he guides you through the process of writing a will and estate planning on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 6-7:30 p.m.
Learn how to write a great obituary Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6-7:30 p.m., presented by Kate Favaro of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Discuss obituary basics included in most obits. Explore tips to make it special, such as writing in the first person, sharing a funny story, and focusing on highlights. Review resources for more inspiration. Practice using some prompts to start writing.
Learn how to plan a funeral at a free workshop Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 6-7:30 p.m. The workshop will be presented by James Sienkiewycz of Flint Funeral Home. He will talk of the importance of pre-funeral arrangements and how to prepare when your loved one unexpectedly passes away. It will finish with a question and answer session.
