Voters will go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and while the presidential election will be hotly contested, all candidates for state and county races in St. Lawrence County are unopposed.
The Republican incumbents for state Assembly -- Scott Gray and Ken Blankenbush -- as well as state Senate -- Mark Walczyk and Dan Stec -- are facing no opposition.
At the county level, Democrat Renee M. Cole is unopposed in her bid to be re-elected county Treasurer. Republican Effie Kyriakopoulos is running unopposed for Family Court Judge.
There is a three-way race for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Kirsten Gillibrand, along with a head-to-head matchup between Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Paula Collins for the 21st Congressional District.
The village of Massena also has a four-way race for two village trustee seats with current Deputy Mayor Chad Simpson facing off against newcomers Ronald Leroux Jr. and Brandon "Tex" Webb, with former politicial candidate David Broadbent now seeking a trustee seat.
Voters will also be deciding statewide whether to approve Proposition 1. For details on the proposition, view earlier story.

Statewide: Proposition One
This proposal would protect against unequal treatment based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity and pregnancy. It also protects against unequal treatment based on reproductive healthcare and autonomy.
A “YES” vote puts these protections in the New York State Constitution.
A “NO” vote leaves these protections out of the State Constitution.
