MASSENA – Edward B. Moerlins, 39, unexpectedly passed away March 6, 2025 at his home.
Edward was born on January 18, 1986 on Staten Island, a twin son of Edward F. Moerlins, III and Tara Heenan.
He attended schools in Staten Island before enlisting in the US Army on February 5, 2008.
He served his country during the Iraq War until his honorable discharge on December 29, 2010, becoming a disabled American Veteran.
Edward was a member of the Norfolk Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed all activities that allowed him to be outside.
He also enjoyed reading, writing poetry, journalizing, listening to Christian music and had a deep Catholic faith.
Edward also enjoyed gaming as a fun outlet to stay in touch with his friends from afar.
Edward is survived by his mother, Tara Napolitano of Lorain, Ohio; his father and step-mother, Edward F. III and Sandra Moerlins of Norfolk; his siblings including his twin brother, Daniel Moerlins of Jersey City, New Jersey, Jesse R. Moerlins of Winthrop, Sabrina M. Moerlins of Massena, and Chyanne E. Moerlins of Massena; his aunts, Mary Ellen Moerlins of New Jersey, Tanya Adams of Staten Island, New York, and Latisha Hawkins of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, 100 N. Main Street, Massena, where friends may call on Monday, March 17, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM until his service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Mark Reilly, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be held Tuesday 1:00 PM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York.
