CANTON – Edith Frazer of Canton was recently honored as the Canton Rotarian of the Year. Edith has served as the Canton Rotary Club Scholarship chair and Youth Exchange Coordinator.
She was given the award in recognition of her boundless efforts associated with leading the Club's Youth Exchange Program and bringing Isadora Cefeuntes Gonzales from Chili this past year.
In presenting the award, Club President Kathryn Mullaney noted "Edith has had to find her way through a morass of bureaucracy associated with bringing an international student to the United States – dealing with Rotary International rules, US State Department rules, and local school district rules. She recruited host families, shepherding them through the approval process, and this year, finding a replacement host family at the last minute when one of the original families had an emergency. Throughout this process, she was cheerful and supportive to everyone involved. She really earned this recognition as the Canton Rotary Club’s Rotarian of the Year".
