LOUISVILLE -- Donald M. Shirley, 69, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 17, 2025, at Massena Hospital.

Donald was born on March 27, 1956, in Massena, the son of the late Max Allen and Beryl (Green) Shirley and was a graduate of Massena Central School.

He married Trudy Kellogg in June 1977 and was blessed with two sons. Trudy predeceased him on July 26, 2024.

Donald was a transmission specialist working with his father at Allen Shirley Garage. He had a great passion for cars and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his sons and their wives, Brett and Brenda Shirley and Ryan and Karissa Shirley, all of Massena; his grandchildren, Addison, Maddox, Connor, Corey, Nick, and Brooke; his great grandchildren, Hudson, Scarlett, and Nuala; his sister, Mary Jane (Anthony) LaClair of Moira; his brother, Myron Shirley of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Brothers on August 17, 2013.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call on Monday, April 28th from 4-6:00 PM with a service being held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Judy VanKennen, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to Massena Meals on Wheels.
