MASSENA – Debra L. Padovano, 65, a resident of Victory Road, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Deb was born on September 25, 1958 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of the late William John and Marian Theresa (Herman) Meyer. She was a 1976 graduate of Massena Central School and continued her education at Quinsigmond College in Worster, Massachusetts achieving an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement in 1979.
After college, Deb worked in the Clerk of Courts Office in Massena before moving to Massachusetts where she worked at a Head Start for 8 years. She then started her employment with Cable Vision retiring as a Senior Management Information Person after 17 years of service.
Deb was a strong liaison for people struggling with addiction and substance abuse, she was instrumental in guiding them through the process of recovery and was also an active volunteer with Renewal House. In addition, Deb was a strong advocate for Animals and truly loved all fur babies.
She loved watching judge and court television shows with Law and Order being one of her favorites. Deb loved her family dearly and cherished the times she was able to spend with her daughter.
Deb is survived by her daughter, Courtney Whitney of Massena and her father, Clayton of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; her sisters, Paula Bleau of Ogdensburg, Sandra Gordon of Massena, Bernadine “Bunny” and Jerry Moriarty of Massena; her brother, Stephen Meyer of Massena and his companion, Laura LeBeouf of Cornwall; her former sister-in-law, Valerie Meyer of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.
Deb was predeceased by her father, William Meyer; her mother, Marian Kellogg; her sister, Beverly Bolster; and a stepbrother, Wayne Kellogg.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however at Deb’s request there will be no services.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Massena Humane Society, American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
