CANTON -- Cora Mae Gotham, 83, of County Route 21, Canton died Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Gouverneur Hospital after a brief stay.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Noon at the Pyrites Fire Hall.
Arrangements for Cora have been entrusted to Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.

Cora was born in Canton, NY a daughter to the late Thomas and Virginia (James) Harmer on April 29, 1942. She attended and graduated from Pyrites Schools.
On October 15, 1958, she married the late Robert E. Gotham in the Pyrites Episcopal Church with Rev. George W. Kaulfuso as the celebrant. Robert passed January 2, 2014. The couple moved from DeKalb to Canton in 1972.
Surviving are her two sons, Rusty (Jill) Gotham of Russell and Robert (Lisa) Gotham of Gouverneur; a daughter-in-law, Victoria Brabaw Gotham of Utica ; son-in-law, Tom Sovie of Massena; brother, David Harmer of Potsdam; 17 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son, Larry Jay Gotham, a daughter, Lori Gotham LaFountain Sovie, and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Gotham.
Cora worked at Grandy’s Roller Skating Rink for a time, but her main profession was being a loving wife and mother.
She enjoyed raising her family and keeping her home, as well as being a socialite.
She also treasured precious time with her children and grandchildren.
