CANTON – On August 15, college freshman Ashley McKinley, 18, continued a project that she had started five years ago at age 13.
Each year the Colton-Pierrepont Central School graduate has donated various items to the Department of Social Services to be given to children in foster care.
McKinley has raised the funds for each project and has donated items such as stuffed animals and backpacks full of personal care items.
This year, McKinley donated gift bags containing blankets suitable for a variety of ages of children.
McKinley is currently attending the University of Buffalo and wants to become a speech pathologist. She plans on continuing her partnership with the Department and her generous spirit and determination to make a difference is greatly appreciated by the Department and the children receiving her gifts.
