COLTON— The Town of Colton is set to receive a $76,318 award for the purchase of four electric vehicle charging stations.
The funding is part of $4.85 million being awarded statewide for electric vehicle infrastructure improvements.
The funds will pay for four level 2 charging stations.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced April 21 that the funds are being awarded to municipalities across the state to support the installation of electric vehicle chargers as part of the State’s Municipal Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Grants program. The funded projects support New York’s ongoing efforts to advance clean transportation, expand publicly available electric vehicle chargers, and help reduce pollution including greenhouse gas emissions for a cleaner and greener environment.
“My Administration is committed to advancing the transition to a cleaner and healthier future for our environment benefitting all New Yorkers,” Governor Hochul said. “Our continued investments in electric vehicle infrastructure encourages more drivers to switch to electric, reducing pollution and emissions across the State and improving the health and well-being of our residents and communities.”
