Charlotte L. Besio, 96, formerly of Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- A Memorial Service for Charlotte L. Besio, age 96, formerly of Ogdensburg will be held at a time to be determined at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. 

Entombment will be at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum. 

Mrs. Besio passed away on Tuesday August 6th 2024, at the home of her daughter in Plant City, FL.

Surviving is her daughter, Marcia (Daniel) Haines of Plant City, FL; a sister, Cora (Charles) Palm of Haines City, FL; a daughter in law, Ruth Besio of Brushton; three granddaughters, Melissa Besio of Moira, NY, Brittany (Tony) Morales of Fredericksburg, VA, and Ashley Haines of Plant City, FL; two grandsons, Christopher Haines & companion Diane Ward of Athens, GA and John (Patricia) Besio of San Juan Capistrano, CA; three great-grandchildren, Noah Besio-Melick of Moira, NY and Liam & Mateo Moralez of Fredericksburg, VA; along with many beloved nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence and a son, Mark.

Charlotte was born on June 10, 1928, in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Mark & Velma (Henry) Glidden. 

She attended Heuvelton Grade School and Rensselaer Falls High School graduating in 1945. 

She was married to Clarence J. Besio on August 19, 1950. 

She continued her education at Potsdam State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree and later a Master’s Degree from St. Lawrence University in Education in 1956.

During her career she taught first, second & third grades at Heuvelton Central School from 1957 to 1983. 

Charlotte enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching the New York Yankees and spending time with her family.
