Carole J. Dominy, 82, Colton

COLTON - A Funeral Mass for Carole J. Dominy age 82, of Colton, NY, will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Colton. Calling hours will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Carole passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family under the care of St. Lawrence Valley Hospice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Garner Funeral Service.

Carole was born July 17, 1942, in Canton, NY to the late Robert W. and Dorice (Rood) Aldous. She graduated from Canton Central School, Class of 1961. That summer, on July 22, 1961, Carole married the love of her life, Henry L. Dominy at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, NY, with Fr. Earl Mayo officiating. Their 63 years together were filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Carole enjoyed a long career as a school bus driver for Colton Pierrepont Central School, retiring after 28 years of service. Following her retirement, she continued to serve her community by volunteering with the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging. A devout member of St. Patrick’s Church in Colton, she was active in the Altar & Rosary Society and a member of the DOVS Vocation Organization. In her free time, Carole loved to create beautiful handmade baskets, cook, sew, garden and canning, chair caning, family maple syrup business, playing mahjong, and travel with her family in their RV. Above all, she treasured spending time with her loved ones, especially her children and grandchildren.

Carole is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Henry L. Dominy of Colton; her sons, Jeffrey A. Dominy and his wife Cheryl of Madrid, Henry Douglas Dominy and his wife Fiona of Canton, and Robert C. Dominy and his wife Noelle of Potsdam; a daughter in law, Sarah Timmons of Westminster, SC; her brothers, James E. Aldous and his wife Valerie of Lexington, SC, and Ronald L. Aldous and his wife Diane of Canton; a sister, Roxane K. Jones and her husband Rick of Canton; a sister in law, Sandy Aldous of Canton; her nine grandchildren, Gavin, Gyle, Vincent, Preston, Katlyn, Daniel, Gabrielle, Geniveve, Nick, Tai, Andrew, Noah, and Hannah; her three great grandchildren, Grace, Lila, and Emily; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Gary T. Dominy in 2013 and David M. Dominy in 2018; and her brother, Robert A. Aldous in 2019.
