Carolann Kingsbury Nelson, 55, Massena

Posted

MASSENA - Carolann Kingsbury Nelson, 55, passed away on Saturday March 15 after a long battle with cancer.

She had many accomplishments, graduated Massena High School, SUNY Canton, studied at the University of Kentucky and she was a loving wife for 35 years.

She had a wicked sense of humor that made her unforgettable. When asked if we had children in our house she told the psychologist, “I'd kill 'em if there were.” It had her placed on watch but she said, “If you can't laugh at life, why live it?”

When her mother-in-law, Pat Nelson, was diagnosed with dementia and deemed unable to live alone, Carolann was already disabled but put her own comfort aside to move in with her and take care of her.

When her mother-in-law dreamed of restarting the farm, Carolann would talk about making a Dragon Farm. The two of them would spend some happy hours planning on where to house the dragons, and of course the market for dragon's eggs.

She loved animals and graduated from SUNY Canton with a Vet Tech degree. That love and knowledge allowed her two cats, Murray and Madonna, to live into their 20s.

In the 90s she was really into "Random Acts of Kindness" so instead of flowers, please perform your own random act of kindness to someone.

Carolann is survived by her husband, Darrell Nelson; her mother-in-law, Pat Nelson; her Sister-in-law, Tammy Renshaw and her sister, Kitty Pierce.
