Canton to improve park and event space

The former Triple A lumber yard site on Gouverneur Street will be razed to make way for a waterfront event space. The office of Governor Kathy Hochul announced May 22 that the village of Canton will receive $749,997 in Restore NY funding to redevelop the site at 15 Gouverneur St. The waterfront site is located directly southwest of Canton’s existing Willow Island Park on the Grasse River.
