POTSDAM– Village police swore in their newest recruit Monday, Feb. 3.
Matthew Gollinger, of Canton, will serve as Potsdam Police’s newest officer, being sworn in Monday by village Mayor Alexandra Jacobs-Wilke.
Gollinger will attend the Law Enforcement Training Institute Police Academy at SUNY Potsdam starting in March and begin his field training after graduation in July.
Officer Shawn Pulver was also recognized for his recent promotion to Police Officer 1st Class.
Since starting his law enforcement career with Potsdam Police Department in 2019, Pulver has obtained certifications as a Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, and most recently a General Topics Instructor to begin sharing his knowledge and experience with new police officer recruits in the academy classroom.
