CANTON – Canton’s Historical Department at 7 Main Street reopened Tuesday, Feb. 12 following a two-month hiatus.
The office has been closed since December following the retirement of longtime Canton Historian Linda Casserly.
The office is now under the direction of new Canton Historian Casey Denis, who said that Wednesday was his second day open to the public at 7 Main Street.
The historian's new hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Denis said he is excited to have residents start coming in to his office, noting that he hopes that the extended evening hours on Thursdays allow community members to visit after work.
He added that the hours are currently “experimental,” and may be adjusted in the future based on need.
