CANTON--After a brief period of inactivity due to both the COVID-19 pandemic and the construction of Canton Central School’s new athletics facilities, the Canton Golden Bear Hall of Fame will host its annual induction ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The public is invited to join the Hall of Fame committee for a full day of activities. The day starts at Partridge Run for a captain and crew, nine-hole golf outing at 9:30 a.m. The green fee for the event is $10.
Inductees will be honored at halftime of the varsity football game at Canton Central School at 1:30 p.m. against Massena.
The induction ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. in the high school auditorium before a post-ceremony reception at The Stadium Sports Bar on Main Street in Canton.
The Canton Golden Bear Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will include Kacie (Wentworth) Brabaw ‘11, Samuel Bradman ‘08, Josh Ayrassian ‘03, Dick Conklin ‘63, as well as the 2002 boys soccer team and the 2002 football team.
The Hall of Fame is seeking funding as it restarts its operations to help cover current and future costs. Donations can be made at the ceremony, or to Canton Hall of Fame - Attn. Anita Francis, 99 State Street, Canton, NY 13617.
