MORRISTOWN — A major event is coming to the Black Lake Fish and Game Association (BLFGA) on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a combination of competitive sport and community celebration.
The 3rd Annual High School Trap Invitational will take center stage as over 125 student-athletes from 14 high schools across the region compete in a 50-bird trap shoot. The event is set to be the largest high school athletic competition in the history of St. Lawrence County. Participating schools include Morristown, Heuvelton, Hammond, OFA, Gouverneur, Lisbon, Indian River, Harrisville, Alexandria Bay, Norwood-Norfolk, Potsdam, St. Lawrence Central, Parishville-Hopkinton, and Brushton-Moira.
In conjunction with the competition, visitors can enjoy a bustling craft and vendor fair inside the Al & Illeane Ames Youth Outdoor Education Center. With more than 20 local vendors, the fair will offer handmade crafts, goods, and unique finds, all under one roof, rain or shine.
Food and concessions will be available on-site, provided by The College Fund, Alaina’s “Not Like the Other Grill’s”, and Stone-Ez Pizza. In addition, attendees can participate in bucket raffles and a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds from the day going toward the purchase of an electronic sign for the BLFGA.
