Bee City USA interest meeting

POTSDAM – The Potsdam Climate Smart Communities organization is hosting an open meeting on Thursday, March 20 at 5 p.m. to provide information, gauge interest and hear ideas about Potsdam being designated as a Bee City USA community. Bee City USA, an initiative from the Xerces Society, aims at conserving pollinators, particularly native bees, by creating high-quality habitats and reducing pesticides for overall survival. Community members can lend a helping hand by doing things like: 

• Volunteering time for upkeep of native pollinator habitats
• Donating native perennials
• Implementing pollinator friendly solutions to your personal gardening spaces

The meeting will be held in the Civic Center Community Room, 2 Park St., third floor.
