I would like to say I support the bus driver in the on going saga with the 7-year-old who probably needs some discipline (“Parent Making Mistake,” “Bus Driver Not to Blame,” online only, April 11). I teach. Nowadays 4th graders will tell you to “blank” off, will do the opposite of what you ask, will defy you, will plead with you to send them to the office, ( they want to get out of class) will say, do and influence others, to do many disrespectful things. I hope this elder does not apologize, does not back down, and garners support from others. If you only knew what many of us who work with "kids today" knew…you would drop over. It's a whoooooole other world, people, and it ain't pretty. Please don't respond to this with the "success” happy stories of other 7-year-olds we all know... I am talking about the one that could cause an adult to lose their position.
