In regards to “Teachers Should Contribute” (Sound Off, Feb. 9-15), I just want to inform you that some teachers do contribute. My husband is a teacher at a local school and he has to contribute $3,000 every year for our health insurance. That is just for health insurance--there is no dental and no eye included in that. If we go to the dentist, that comes straight from our pockets. If we want eye insurance, that is also $300 extra. So please be aware that many teachers do contribute.
