In reply to “Cut N-N Middle School” (March 16-22), this person needs to get their facts straight. First, as a member of a school board elsewhere, board members do not protect “sacred cows” such as middle schools. We are charged with making sound decisions for the best of our students and our educational systems. Boards do not have the discretion to just cut middle schools. Education has changed drastically over the years. Boards of education and school districts are directed to do certain things by New York State Higher Education. Many things are out of administrator and school board hands. Education is the future of this country and everyone should be doing what they can to see that our children are getting the best education possible. People need to quit griping about salaries of teachers and administrators and contact their appointed officials to have things changed. If you feel the Norwood-Norfolk Central School board is so bad, then run for it yourself and see what they deal with.
