In response to the person who wrote “demanding” hydropower for village residents stating that it is the village’s job to take care of us & the cost is irrelevant (“Village Needs Hydropower,” Sound Off, Jan. 18-24): obviously you don’t pay village taxes. People who demand village services without paying for them are a big part of the village’s problem! It is your responsibility to take care of you! Get a generator and quit expecting to be taken care of. Village residents who pay taxes need the revenue that selling hydropower to National Grid will generate. Expecting others to meet your basic needs is what’s wrong in today’s society!
